Smiles are contagious.
The second week of August is National Smile Week, so I want to give you something to smile about! First, here is an interesting fact about smiling to brighten your day. The human face has 44 muscles that give you the ability to make more than 5,000 facial expressions. Further, smiling is good for your health. According to a recent study in Psychological Science, people who smile during stressful situations are significantly less stressed than those who aren’t smiling … so, there might be something to the adage, “Grin and Bear it”.
I’m sure you also know that smiles are contagious. When someone smiles at you, it’s instinctual to smile back. Try it … pay forward the body’s natural stress-reducer by smiling at the next person you see. A little smiling can help make our world a better place and we would all welcome that. But let’s take it even further.
I have something for you that will help you put a smile on the faces of people you know – friends, family, and people in your community.
